In either instance please hear me when I say,

Entrepreneurship is a skill that can be learned, as a matter of fact, it’s rapidly become the key to our financial survival.

Even if you have a currently have a job, you have no guarantees that you’ll be able to keep that job, so – it’s vital that you adopt an entrepreneurial mindset now while you’re employed.

In my free audiobook and PDF, I share 57 Keys to Monetize Your Gifts and get on the path to creating True Security For Yourself!

In this episode of the podcast, I share my top 5 favorite ideas that you can employ immediately to Monetize Your Gifts which you’ll hear which ones I picked on the podcast.

On the show, I also promised three additional bonus choices that I would include in the show notes so here they are in no particular order,

Monetizing Your Gifts Key #2 – “Artists” don’t let your work sleep in your house! If buyers can’t see it you can’t sell it.

The original inspiration for this quote came from an aspiring writer in search of a publisher for a book he’d written. He made a list of options to send out his manuscript out to and backed all the envelopes with their address.

Each time one of his submissions was returned with a rejection letter, he placed the returned manuscript into one of the already addressed envelopes and sent his book out to the next person on his list.

His commitment was simple, he knew his book couldn’t be considered for publication sitting on his desk so he made the declaration that his manuscript would never sleep in his house.

Maybe you don’t aspire to write and publish a book, perhaps you have items you’ve designed like jewelry or clothing that you’ve yet to photograph and put on your website. Or maybe you’ve been procrastinating about organizing or participating in a local pop up store to sell your goods.

Maybe you’ve been holding off creating and promoting your web class, or reaching out to that podcast host to see if they’d be interested in booking you on their show.

Wherever you’re holding back, if buyers can’t see your work, you can’t sell it!

Monetizing Your Gifts Key #6 – Motivation is like the wind, sometimes it comes on so strong it can knock you over, other times it will feel like a gentle breeze. But like the air you breathe, it’s always present whether you actually feel it or not.

The inspiration for this quote came from the misconception that we can’t create until the mood or the muse strikes us. In my opinion, creativity is 90% perspiration and discipline and 10% inspiration. If the muse isn’t showing up summound it by taking action. In other words, show up and the let muse catch up!

Monetizing Your Gifts Key #56 – Don’t take travel advice from someone who’s never left their hometown. In other words, do accept council from other entrepreneurs, not someone whose only source of income has ever been a regular paycheck.

If never ceases to amaze me how quick some people are to dispense advice on topics they know nothing about. That was the inspiration for this quote. Starting a business anybody can do, doing what it takes day in and day out, year in and year out is what separates the “talkers” from the doers.

Like I said anybody can start a business, but doing what it takes, shifting and pivoting markets, products, and business models. Dealing with clients and customers, websites that mysteriously go down for no apparent reason, refunds, taxes, marketing that doesn’t yield new paying customers and I can go on and on is where the true entrepreneur reveals his or herself.

SO if you’re taking advice for your business from someone who’s never walked that path, run, don’t walk the other way.
