Day 9 of Natalie Sisson’s Suitcase Entrepreneurs 30 Day Blog Challenge. Before I dive into today’s challenge I just want to take a moment to say how much I’m totally digging this experience.
Something that many of the making money online books, courses, coaches etc, etc, etc either forget to mention or grossly underscore, is the power of discipline and consistency. Without it you won’t accomplish anything, let alone create a successful business that supports your dreams.
Now, on to Day 9 and the question Natalie posed to her global challengers –
Whose online business do you admire most and why?
The online businesses I admire most is Jodi Ettenburg of Legal Nomads. While I’m not an attorney like Jodi, I love her passion for travel, photography and food; three topics I’m totally into.
I love the way she’s created a way to blend all three of her passions and create a book The Food Lovers’s Handbook and a blog based business built around the subject.
The second online business I admire is Chris Guillebeau’s. Chris has built a very powerful community and business through his blogging efforts primarily based on book publishing, online courses (something I’ve done in the past and would love to learn how to market even more successfully in the future) and travel of course.
Honestly, any business that involves publishing and allowing me the creative freedom to use my photography, writing, and course development skills would be ideal.
Two Things I Could Do To Get Closer To Having This Business Model
The first thing I could do is focus my energy on creating a real community with my existing blog. I can do this by reaching out to inspirational centers of influence like Chris and Jodi, asking them if they’d consider doing a podcast interview with me.
These type of interviews will help me create valuable and highly inspirational content for my readers.
The second thing I can do is start working on my next book. Since publishing is the foundation for both of these business models a new book will help me accomplish two very important goals.
1.) Establish Authority
2.) Create A Deeper Connection With My Readers.
